Cole Barnett was born into a family with deep love of travel and a strong appreciation for the arts. From an early age, she visited renowned galleries and museums throughout Europe, experiences that shaped her artistic sensibility and inspired a lifelong dedication to creative study and practice.
She pursued European art during her adolescences and early adulthood, later expanding her studies to include Asian art while living in South Korea. Time spent in Germany further refined her artistic voice and deepened her understanding of color, form and atmosphere.
Barnett’s work reflects a passion for the evolution of art history, drawing influences that span from Impressionism to Modern Art. Now residing in South Florida, she continues to develop her practice— and exploring new creative directions and translating her global experiences into vivid expressive art.

Sibling Rivalry
Project type
Original Acrylic on canvas 16 x 20
Date
2024
Location
Port St. Lucie
I have always thought that penguins are irresistibly cute—always dressed up, yet with no formal events to attend. Late last year, (2024), I began a new series of paintings featuring these charming, tuxedo-clad creature of the sea.Their playful personalities and elegant appearances made them the perfect subjects to explore through color, texture, and expression.
Having a sibling, you sometimes find yourself vying for attention. Here you find yourself witnessing the bigger brother pushing his younger brother off a seaside rock. Straight into the water he goes. Little brother calls for help as he is being pushed into the sea below. Big brother has the look in his eyes as if to say, “nothing here to see”, as he does his dirty deed. His left flipper is completely motionless as if to prove his innocence.
